| Description | In this book the author presented his longterm studies of the traditional archery (namely, Zhamby Atu) in Kazakhstan, and within the Kazakh diaspora in Mongolia and Russia. The author found that the communities safeguard the traditions of sport games and competitions, including the horseback archery. The author found out how the archery skills were transmitted from generation to generation. He also emphisized the importance of its safeguarding and development. In addition to the promotion of the ancient combat memory, the author provided valuable research and ethnographic judgments about ancient firearms, bows (jaws), and arrows, and accompanied by versions of songs and names from ancient folklore heritage. |
