Description
The article presents a discursive analysis of Kazakhstan media space. The text interpretation strategy is based on situation modeling. The symbiosis of post-Soviet and postcolonial identities which has developed in the country's cultural practice has been revealed and confirmed in the work with concrete examples. According to the researcher, three basic projects constitute the constant intertext that defines the political, social and cultural boundaries of the entire Kazakhstan society. The Eurasian project has been completed in the official Russian-language discourse, the Pan-Turkic project influences the Kazakh public discourse to the extent permitted by the state, and the liberal project is partially present in the political discourse, and more marked in the art discourse (via decolonial trends). All projects are at the same time constants and frames, beyond which the "carriers" of these discourses prefer not to go. The concepts of power, ideology and history are defined within the framework of the theory of critical discourse analysis as the basic concepts of Kazakhstan discourse. The article also describes their reflection in the associative consciousness of the speakers of the Russian and Kazakh languages. The article indicates the trends and cognitive strategies of the official and mass discourse: from the surviving Soviet stereotypes to the emerging national identity. The novelty of the work is determined by the material and the methods of analysis, according to which the postulates of cognitive theories are supported by the findings of critical discourse analysis. While analyzing publicistic genres, verbal means and rhetorical strategies, as well as language hybridity proper, the given study reveals the ideological constructions of a concrete time and space.
