Description
-
Throughout the history of human culture, wooden bowls have been used, and with the development of manufacturing in settled civilizations, trademarks, and artisan marks have long been used to distinguish products from others. However, the nomads had a tradition of writing symbols/stamps or symbolic words and blessings on the surface of their very own bowls. Mongolians put a stamp on their private bowls, which is inseparable from the household use of nomads, so it has been preserved until now. However, despite the spread of the “khas or swastika” mark due to worldview and religious influence, it has developed into an image containing the symbol of auspiciousness of the Mongols, as confirmed by the swastika motifs depicted on wooden and silver bowls of the 20th century.
