Description | "A capacity-building workshop on the "Role of Media in the Implementation of the Convention for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage" was held in Darkhan-Uul province of Mongolia on September 11-15, 2017. The training workshop was hosted by the Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific under the auspices of UNESCO (CRIHAP) in close collaboration with the Council for Cultural Heritage Communication and Networking (CCHCN) and the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists and organized by the National Center for Cultural Heritage. The workshop aims to significantly enhance the capabilities of media organizations and journalists in effectively implementing the 2003 UNESCO Convention on the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. One of the main objectives is to ensure that cultural heritage is protected, transmitted, and promoted while encouraging active participation from future generations. This comprehensive guide for journalists includes the full text of the UNESCO Convention, the laws and legal frameworks related to protecting cultural heritage in Mongolia, and the impactful presentations by UNESCO facilitators during the training sessions." |
