Description | The main source for studying the ornamental art of the Kazakh population was the materials of ethnographic expeditions of Dostoevsky Omsk State University in 1976-1983, as well as joint expeditions of OmSU and the Omsk branch of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the RAS) in rural settlements, in places of compact residence of Kazakhs in the Omsk, Novosibirsk regions and Altai Territory. These sources are represented by field records, sketches, and photos of graphs stored in the funds of the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography at OmSU. The collections of the Omsk State Historical and Religious Museum and the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of Siberia at Tom State University were also used in the work. On the basis of the above sources, an analysis was carried out of the national culture of the Kazakhs of Western Siberia in general, and their decorative and applied arts in particular. This made it possible to define some features that demonstrate a special environment for the development of ornamental art by the targeted population group. |
